On September 18, 2020, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg died from complications of metastatic pancreatic cancer. She was the second woman to ever be a Supreme Court Judge. On September 23, 2020, she arrived at the Supreme Court for the last time, and on September 24, 2020, Americans will be able to pay their respects.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg was born on March 15, 1933, in Brooklyn, New York. Her parents were part of the working class. Ruth worked hard and excelled in her studies in High School. Unfortunately, her mother died of cancer the day before her graduation.

In 1954, Ginsburg graduated from Cornell University with a bachelor's degree in government. She eventually married and had her first daughter, Jane. She enrolled into Harvard University to study law. Even though she was in a male-dominated environment, she still excelled academically and became the first female member of the Harvard Law Review.

After combating testicular cancer, Ginsburg's husband began to work in a law firm in New York. Ginsburg transferred to Colombia University, and eventually graduated top of her class in 1959.

During the 1970s, she served as director of the Women's Rights Project of the American Civil Liberties Union, and she argued six landmark cases on gender equality. In 1980, she was appointed to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia by President Carter. And in 1993, President Clinton appointed her to the U.S. Supreme Court.

She ruled in many cases like Bush v. Al Gore, King v. Burwell, Obergefell v. Hodges. Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg may be gone, but she definitely left a legacy that will never be forgotten.
