We are humans; we are not perfect. We often make mistakes, and it really hurts to know we've made one. Mistakes are necessary because we can learn and grow from them. They make us wiser. It's important to learn from your mistakes but you shouldn't let them define you.
Sometimes people do something wrong, and they struggle getting over it. They will spend their days filled with regret and dwelling on the past. They will say things like "I should've said / done this" or "I shouldn't have done this". It's definitely important to learn from the past, so we can act better next time (if there is one), but there are more important things to focus on. We should focus on how we can be better, so we don't act the way we did, or so we act the way we should. Everyday you have an opportunity to become a better person and do many things. Don't waste that time beating yourself up for something you cannot change.
Take that experience, reflect on it, learn from it, and move on.
