DIY Cloth Face Masks: A Guide on How to Make Them

Cloth Face Masks are key in reducing the spread of COVID-19. They prevent germs from being spread as much. However, not everybody have access to a cloth face mask so we'll be teaching you how to make your own. You will need to know how to sew. The CDC has released are alternatives for people who can't sew: Non-Sew Face Covering Tutorial


Materials


Two Rectangles of Cotton Fabric (10" x 6")

Two Pieces of Elastic (6")

Needle and Thread

Scissors

Sewing Machine

Tutorial


1. Cut two Rectangles that measure 10 inches by 6 inches and stack them together.

2. Fold over 1/4 inch on the long side and sew.

3. Fold over 1/2 inch on the short side and sew, but leave a small entrance for the elastic

4. Insert the elastic through both entrances on the short side.

5. Make a knot and tuck the knot inside the hem.
